Happy 4th of July!

We had a great weekend! Mike’s parents came into town. On the 3rd Misterand I went shopping with the “girls”. We went to Ross and found home decor for Emily and Grams also got us a couple pics! We went to lunch at Sizzler and had Mike join us. That evening we went to my mom’s for a bbq for her birthday. My aunt april and uncle dan were up to see the Stadium of Fire and went to the bbq as well. That evening we met back up with Mike’s family and watched the fireworks from the Provo High football field. The fireworks were pretty good this year, but I was disappointed in the finale. It was a blast having our little guy there with us. Words he used to describe the fireworks, “neat” “wow” “awesome” “boom” like it” ”this one”. He’s just TOO cute! On Monday morning we went to the parade. Just Mike, mister and me. Mister is just so much fun. He commented on everything he saw and kept asking for more. We left when he said “all done”. I went and saw “Eclipse” with the girls. It’s the whole reason mike’s mom and dad came out!!! The movie was pretty good. That evening we went to a bbq at mike’s mom’s uncle’s house. (got that?) Mike’s mom’s cousin is the mother of the Nigel Olsen, one of the marines that was killed in action in March. It was neat to talk to them and listen to a song that Nigel’s niece wrote. She’s only 9! All in all it was a great weekend. I love having a child to enjoy holidays with!!

Big Boy Bed

Uncle Joel and Aunt Netty were able to dig out their old toddler bed and they gave it to Mister. He’s been out of his crib, with just the mattress on the ground since sometime in February. He was so excited to have a big boy bed! Thanks to the Lyons for the bed and to Daddy for putting it together!

Zoo April 2010

On Friday night when Mike got home (10pm) I asked him if he wanted to go to the zoo the next day cause it was supposed to be nice. We called the Shaw’s but they had a baptism the next day and couldn’t make it. Since it was so late we didn’t think it’d be ok to call anyone else so we were just going to go on our own. While we were discussing this I got a text from my friend and she said they were planning to go to the zoo tomorrow and wanted to see if we wanted to go. Funny how things work out sometimes. We met up with the Findlay’s at the zoo and had a great day. It ended up being a long day for the kids, they both fell asleep once they got into the cars.

Us girl’s were able to get together again. Rachel, Stephanie and Erin were all able to come. Only Janarae was missing. She wasn’t able to make it down from Idaho. We missed her! It’s fun getting all our kids together too! It’s a little crazy with all the kids, but definitely fun!

Easter

We had fun with Mister this year. He got to help color eggs. He also got into finding eggs. Saturday morning the Easter Bunny came and left eggs everywhere for Mister to find. He also left Gavin a climber/slide. It’s so much fun! My camera died so i only got a few pics and none at Grandma’s house doing the egg hunt there.

Not a ton to report, but we did do some fun things. Mister’s cousin Mr S had his 5th birthday. They had a Ninja Turtle birthday party. I was so surprised that Mister kept his mask on! More playing outside, snow and sun. We do live in Utah! Uncle Allen is trying to sell his mustang so Mister got a chance to drive it in the parking lot and go “fast”. Miss K also had her 10th bday and she had a cooking party. It was lots of fun. Here are some fun pics!

Mike and I celebrated our 9thAnniversary. It’s crazy how fast it seems sometimes! My mom and dad watched Mister for us while we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. It was our first experience there and we really enjoyed the food! We loved getting out just the two of us, but we missed our little boy. Mister got a new shirt with a big truck on it and he cried when he had to take it off and put his jammies on so we put his shirt back on over his jammiesand he was happy. Funny kid! Mister helped me and Grandpa make peanut butter kisses for Valentine’s Day. He also got to start a new Sunday night ritual. After we have dinner at Grandma and Grandpa’s house he gets to “drive” in the parking lot of the church across the street. He LOVES it! He also loves to play outside. He is so big and loves to go down the slides and swing. He also is very coordinated and can dribble a ball with his feet really well!

January 2010

Here are a few pictures from January. Mister turned 18 months. He was still in the 97 percentile for his height. He’s such a tall little boy. We gave Mister his first hair cut with the buzzer. Before I’d just trimmed it with scissors. After we were done I pretty much cried. All his soft baby hair was gone!! Thinking about it now still makes me kind of sad, but it’s so much easier cutting his hair with the buzzers. We also got to go sledding! We went with the Lyons and the Shaws. We started at a smaller hill in Springville then went over to a bigger hill with more snow at the Spanish Fork golf course. Aunt Mimi took pics there and we haven’t gotten them from her, but there were some great pics of everyone going off a jump. After Mister’s first time down the hill he did the sign and said “more more.” hehe I also added a picture of the snow one night. It can be so beautiful when the snow is fresh and clean!

2009 end of year review

So, since I’ve been a slacker I thought I’d just put a few things that happened in the last few months of 2009.

October we had Halloween. Mister got to draw on his pumpkin while Mommy and Daddy carved theirs. Daddy’s was Jaws and mine was a hurt pumpkin.

November we added a member to our family. We got Dingo. Mister loves her a lot. She’s a crazy dog though! Grams and Papa came for Thanksgiving and Mister finally warmed up to them before they left.

December brought snow and Christmas. Mister was adorable in his new snow suit!!! It was so fun having Christmas this year and seeing his excitment at presents and sharing it with his cousins.
