My first REAL real mother’s day

So, with Gavin on the outside of my tummy I’ve celebrated my first REAL mother’s day.  It was great.  I love being a mother.  I am SOOOOO blessed to have Gavin in my life.  He makes all our struggles to get him here worth it.  Mike sent me roses and took me to Ruby River and I got a new book.  I am also very blessed to have Mike as my partner as Gavin’s mom.  All the men in our family made us ladies dinner on sunday as well.  I have a great Mom who would do anything for me.  I have an awesome mother in law as well!  I am truly BLESSED!

 

Close call… Time for the crib!!!

On Saturday night Gavin was in bed (his pack n play next to our bed).  Mike and I both wanted to shower so we didn’t have to wake up even earlier before church and since Gavin was asleep we decided to get it done faster by taking one together.  We checked on Gavin before we got in.  After we got out and Mike was dressed he went in to check on Gavin.  He came back into the bathroom just a minute or two later and asks, “where did you put gavin?” Uh, in his bed!  So he had me come in our room and then says, “Do you see him?”  At this point my heart has dropped to my stomach and I’m pretty nervous because NO I don’t see him in his bed or ours or the floor.  I’m thinking “Where is my baby!!”  And then Mike puts his hand on my shoulder and points…

I sighed a HUGE sigh of relief adn went and picked my baby up and cuddled him close.  Giving him lots of kisses too.  We’re thinking he must have woken up in the 15-20 min we couldn’t hear him and wanted to find mommy.  Maybe he smelled me on the pillow and that was good enough.  We are so glad he didn’t decide to go over any of the other sides!!  We felt very blessed!

    We met at a party at a mutual friend's house in January of 2000 and were married a year later in February of 2001. We just had our first child in July and love being parents. He is the cutest kid ever!!

     

Mike

    Mike grew up in OK for most his life. He served a mission in Brazil (Santa Catarina), then moved to Utah in 1999. Mike is currently working at NovaRad as a Support Engineer.

    I play Volleyball as often as my schedule allows.

    I am attending the University of Phoenix online for my degree

     

Nicole

    Nicole was born in Arizona. She moved to Utah when she was two and has been here ever since. She is currently working at Teamworks. Raising her first child. Loves to sing, read and play volleyball (even if i'm not that good). I love hanging out with family and friends.

     

Gavin

    Arrived July 2008!!

    Gavin arrived in July. He's cute, so he must take after his mommy, but he looks like his daddy.

     

Twitch

    Twitch is our "other" child. He lives at his mother's house (which also happens to be at Nicole's parent's house. Twitch was born on Mike's birthday in 2002. He loves to swing and get into water whenever he can..
